GridGuardian monitors an unlimited number of systems and based upon a customizable set of rules, determines if there are potential issues or anomalies. It can be configured to detect issues with complex symptoms and escalate attention if the characteristics of the problems evolve. GridGuardian assigns severity levels based upon the rules established. Because GridGuardian has an internal clock, it can also escalate the severity of an unresolved problem simply because time has elapsed. The great benefit in the intelligent alarming that GridGuardian performs is that GridGuardian can trigger another application or system to engage as a result of a situation or after a specified time period of an unresolved problem. This trigger can be defined to happen with manual confirmation from operators or technical staff or the trigger may be defined to automatically happen without any need for manual intervention.
